Prof. Wang Rusong has been elected served to the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He served as Vice-President of SCOPE 2002 to 2009 and has co-directed several SCOPE projects on urban systems. Academician Wang currently co-chairs a new project on urban futures, a collaborative programme in development with UNESCO. His research interests since the early 1980s have explored integrative methodology for sustainable development in urban systems, and socio-economic-natural complex ecosystem studies, focussing in particular on ecological integration, industrial ecology, eco-city planning and sustainability management.
International Environmental Sciences Forum – On 27-30 November 2011, SCOPE and the Zhongyu Environmental Technologies Corporation brought together invited experts, young early-career scientists, and decision-makers and practitioners from the civil society at an International Forum in Yixing, China. 
SCOPE-Zhongyu Environmental Awards 2011 – The Young Scientists Awards acknowledge individuals who have developed innovative approaches in their research, demonstrated capacity to address broad issues, and an outstanding publication record. SCOPE is pleased to announce the 2011 laureates :
